24 Hours of Booty / Bootyville
2132 Radcliffe Avenue

Active Charlotte Alliance

You’re invited to join our next activity that will be on Friday, July 24th, from 5:45 pm-8:00 pm. For this ACA monthly social, we’re introducing a new twist:  Sponsoring our own running effort followed immediately afterwards with the creation of a Cheering Section to support the 24 Hours of Booty (Charlotte) kickoff!  Now in its 14th year, 24 Hours of Booty is not only an important annual charity event, but also one of the highlights for thousands who live and visit the beautiful Myers Park neighborhood where it takes place.

“Bootyville” (aka Ground Zero for 24HOB) will be located at Queens University and Myers Park Traditional School.  Cyclists, meanwhile, will navigate the “Booty Loop” on the outskirts.  The route itself is just under 3-miles, but cyclists will do the course many, many, many times over the 24-hour period.  This year, Charlotte welcomes over 1,200 riders who’ve collectively helped raise funds for local charities such as the Levine Cancer Institute, LIVESTRONG Foundation, Keep Pounding Foundation, Wind River Cancer Wellness Retreats and the Brain Tumor Fund of the Carolinas through their participation.

ACA Run & Social Details:

Here’s what you need to know about the planned social:

  • Meet at the ACA tent in Bootyville between 5:15-5:45pm.
  • Depart together for a run (or bike if you are racing and want a warm up lap) around the Booty Loop; we’ll leave sharply at 5:45PM.
  • Click here for map of the 24HOB course map (approximately 2.8 miles)
  • Runners should feel free to add a loop or cut the loop short for a longer/shorter workout.
  • Gather with us at the ACA tent (next to Bootyville HQ) before or after the run. We’ll walk from the tent to the start line near Wellesley Avenue & Queens Road West around 6:30 pm.  National Anthem plays at 6:50pm.. At 7pm, the event kicks off with a “Survivor Parade Lap.”
  • Stay and listen to local bands and enjoy the bike expo!
  • Kids are welcome! There is a “kid zone” with inflatables, etc.
  • Enjoy water and food from the Community Culinary School of Charlotte.  Feel free to bring your own adult beverages and ice them down in coolers we’ll have available. Special thanks to Ortho Carolina and Charlotte B-Cycles for the generous sponsorship of this month’s ACA Social!
